Very interesting. It would seem Islam and Christianity have some common ground when it comes to emphasizing the value of humility.

Humility has been a common ground across humanity’s belief systems whether mythological or theological. Even the Greek gods punished hubris.

That's a bit ironic of the Greek gods. Also a bit ironic how much we like the idea of humility but not the practice of it.

That’s true. The Greek gods punished hubris, but they rarely modeled humility themselves. Maybe that’s the point. Even flawed myths understood that unchecked pride destroys.

And you’re right about us. We admire humility in theory because it sounds noble. In practice, it threatens our ego. It asks us to surrender credit, control, and applause. That’s harder than liking the idea.
